Rose Marie Altendorf

Rose M. Altendorf, 82 of Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Rose Marie was born on April 14, 1942, to Valentine and Amelia (Wesolowski) Rolczynski of Warsaw, North Dakota and later moved to the family farm in Alverado, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Alverado. 

Rose resided there until she married Raymond J. Altendorf on October 25, 1960, in Oslo, Minnesota. They resided at the family farm near Drayton and eventually made their home in Drayton. Raymond preceded her in death on July 31, 2013.

Rose spent the early years raising their four children. When the children grew older, she worked at American Crystal and Motor Coach Industries. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and cross stitching. She enjoyed the holiday season, when she started baking weeks before the holidays, because everyone who came had to go home with a box of baked goods. 

Rose is survived by her three children, Duane Altendorf of St. Thomas, ND, Cathy Altendorf of Fargo, ND and Michelle (Dale) Ososki of Grand Forks, ND; eleven grandchildren, Tanner (Amanda) Altendorf, Tyler (Michelle) Altendorf, Heather Herberholz, Melissa (Kyle) Morrow, Stephanie (Jacob) Ososki, Allison Ososki and Connor Ososki; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond, son, Dennis Altendorf, brothers, Domenic (Jean) Rolcyznski and Henry (Kitty) Rolezynski, sister, Dorothy (Clarion) Lunski, brother-in-law, Elmer Altendorf, nephew, Martin Altendorf and her fur baby, Snickers.

 Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home.
