Ruby Leiss

Ruby V. Leiss was 93 years old when she passed away in Grand Forks, ND. She was the oldest sister of three, growing up on a farm in Hebron, ND. She went to school to be a teacher and pursued that profession for a few years. She then met Larry, got married, had a family and became a full-time homemaker. They lived a majority of their lives in Reynolds, ND.

Ruby was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Welca in Reynolds. She was active in the church, helping organize and assist whenever she could. She remained active during her years in Reynolds. She tried her hand at bowling, golfing and horseshoe. She really enjoyed a good walk, as you could see her hiking around Reynolds quite often.

Music was important to Ruby. You could always see her tap her toe or clap her hands to a tune she enjoyed. She was also a great dancer, especially when there was old time music playing. Ruby loved to bake. There were always goodies in the freezer to grab as you walked out the door. She also mastered the art of making potato salad.

The last 6 years of Ruby's life were at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND. She was loved by all there, and they treated her with respect and dignity.

She is preceded in death by her parents (George and Clara Martin) and her sister, LaVerne (Vernie) Ames.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; son-Marty (Nicole); daughter-Dolleen (Corey Fox) and three grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed.

A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00am at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND. Visitation with the family will be held an hour prior to services with a lunch to follow.
