Sandra Lavonne Van Gerpen, (Sturgon), was born in Hampton, IA, on October 19, 1949, and passed away on May 5, 2024, at the age of 74 in Emerado, ND with her loving husband Larry at her side.
Sandra married her high school sweetheart Larry on December 23, 1967. Sandra was a loyal, kind-hearted, and loving individual who was known for her hard work and dedication.
Sandra worked for the Civil Service (DOD) for 40 years, showcasing her commitment and work ethic. Sandra attended Dows Community HS and furthered her education at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. Sandra chose to not finish her degree, instead followed and supported her husband’s career in the US Air Force.
In her leisure time, Sandra found joy in watching various sports, particularly basketball and football. She also cherished reading love stories, westerns, and mysteries. A competitive spirit, she loved engaging in games of Wah-Hoo with her family, often coming out on top with her luck.
Sandra is survived by her husband Larry, daughter Janelle, granddaughter Jessica, great-granddaughter Jordyn, sister Gloria, and brother Ron. She is preceded in death by her son Brian, father Eugene, mother Mable, sister Donna, and sister Marilyn.
Per Sandra Van Gerpen’s family request there will be no services. May she rest in peace.
