Sherry Lynn Hansen

January 13, 1963 — April 13, 2026

Sherry Lynn Hansen, 63, of Grand Forks, ND (formerly of Pembina, ND), passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026.

Sherry was born on January 12, 1963, in Crookston, MN, to Earlys and Arlen Hansen. She spent most of her life in the Red River Valley, including a meaningful chapter in Colorado, something she had long hoped for, before returning to Grand Forks, where she resided until her passing.

Sherry’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She welcomed her three children, Jordan Joshua (“Jordy”), Chelsea RoseLynn (“Dolly”), and Keaton Alexander (“Boo Boo”), and cherished time spent with each of them and their families. She adored being “Na-Maw Sherry” to her grandchildren and was known for her exuberant generosity, spirited personality, and ability to keep her family on their toes.

Sherry was loving, outgoing, and fun to be around, always making new friends and enjoying time spent with others. She had a deep love for animals and leaves behind her beloved cat, “Nalah Kitty,” whom she adored and cared for, always making sure she had fresh ice water, treats, and plenty of affection. She expressed her love for others through cooking, hosting, and acts of service. Her cooking was the best - never from a “recipe,” always incredible, and in true Sherry fashion, made in portions that could have fed the whole neighborhood. No one ever left hungry… and rarely left empty-handed.

She found great joy in gift-giving, especially at Christmas, thoughtfully choosing or creating meaningful gifts and delighting in the excitement they brought to others. Creative and artistic, Sherry loved making things by hand, leaving behind many pieces that will be cherished for years to come.

She also valued her time at the farm, always willing to help wherever needed, whether with repairs, running equipment, or feeding the crew, never afraid to get her hands dirty. In her later years, she found purpose in giving back through volunteer opportunities. Guided by an unshakable faith and a determined spirit, Sherry had a way of always finding a path forward when she set her mind to something. She approached life with resilience, continuing to seek connection, meaning, and moments of joy.

Through the complexities of her life, Sherry remained deeply loved by her family. She will be remembered for her free spirit, her generosity, and the love she had for her friends and family, especially her children and grandchildren. Those who knew her best saw her strength, her heart, and her enduring desire to connect with and love those around her. Her family asks that she be remembered with compassion, and that her memory serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness and understanding for those facing unseen burdens.

Sherry is survived by her loving family, including her mother, Earlys Hansen of Grand Forks, ND; her children, Jordan (Tricia) Lage of Colorado Springs, CO, Chelsea (Craig) Moen of Thompson, ND, and Keaton (Kenzie) Severtson of Grand Forks, ND; her siblings, Jeff (Kim) Hansen of Grand Forks, ND, Mike (Shelli) Rude of Pembina, ND, and Teresa (Scott) Anderson of Frisco, TX; her cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Astacia, Ashlyn, Brandon, Adam, Weston, Harper, and Calvin; and many extended family members who will miss her.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at Amundson Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.at Amundson Funeral Home.
