Terry Lee Fichtner, age 67, passed away November 22, 2024, at the Larimore Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home after a long battle with health issues.
Terry was born February 15, 1957 in Grand Forks, ND to William “Bud” and Janice Fichtner. He attended Emerado Elementary school, graduated from Larimore High School and attended University of Minnesota in Crookston for 2 years, majoring in Ag Business and Marketing.
After school he farmed with his father William “Bud” Fichtner for several years. He started his career as a commodity broker with Benson-Quinn Commodities. Then from 2006 until the present, he worked for RML Trading.
In his off time, Terry enjoyed playing softball on the Holmes Softball Team. According to his friend, Brian Schneider, he was one of the “best pitchers” he'd ever gone up against. Terry was an avid Sioux fan and a season ticket holder for UND sports events. Terry also loved to fish, hunt and cook. He would take friends and clients to Devils Lake on fishing trips, then enjoy a fish fry at Joan and Gary Bahr's home.
Terry always enjoyed fireworks displays. Eventually his interest would lead to getting a fireworks license and putting on impressive displays for friends.
Terry is survived by his mother, Janice Fichtner and sister, Lorie Johnson (Fichtner). He was predeceased by his brother Tod and father William Fichtner.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holmes United Methodist Church Cemetery.
