Theresa Audrey Kalbrener, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 4, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Theresa “Terri” Kalbrener was born April 23, 1944, in England to Victor and Barbara Mihulka. She graduated high school in Bowman, ND. She moved with her family to Grafton, ND, where she met and later married James Kalbrener on September 14, 1963.
She was active in her community, playing women’s softball, bowling, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed time with her family, hunting, fishing, and camping. She especially loved watching her children and grandchildren play hockey, baseball, and softball.
Terri worked for many years alongside her parents and her brother Steve at the family jewelry store, Valley Jewelry, the Collette Fitness Center, and as an EMT with the Valley Ambulance Service in Grafton.
In 2014, she moved to Fargo to be closer to her children and grandchildren and, most recently, lived with her daughter in Grand Forks.
Theresa is survived by her children: Paul (Hilca) Kalbrener, Tracy Kalbrener, Scott Kalbrener and Jason (Wendy) Kalbrener; grandchildren: Katharina (Richard) Rather, Kelly Kalbrener, Jodi Kalbrener, Nicholas Vejtasa, Tyler Vejtasa, Jillyssa Sorum, Brandon Smith, Ava Kalbrener, Charlie Kalbrener, Lauren Kalbrener and Ben Kalbrener; great-grandchildren: Max Rather, Johanna Rather, Dylan (Maddy) Zimmer, Riley Zimmer, Brayden Zimmer, Madison Prather and Bella Sorum; one great-great-granddaughter, Grace Zimmer; brother, Steve Mihulka and sister-in-law, Diane Mihulka.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Kalbrener; parents, Victor and Barbara Mihulka; brother, Robert Mihulka and her sister-in-law, Anita Mihulka.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Grafton, ND.
