Todd Alan Philbrick (Philly) of Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 63, with his beloved parents and sisters by his side.

Memorial services will be held at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Friday, August 21, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the church basement. Interment will take place at a later date.

Todd was born on February 5, 1963, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Frank and Luella Philbrick. He was raised in Lakota, North Dakota, graduating from Lakota High School in 1981. He went on to attend Mayville State College.

After college, in the ‘80s, Todd began driving semi-truckfor Coca-Cola and Frito-Lay. In 1990, Todd’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate Lumpy’sSubs in Grand Forks. It was at Lumpy’s that Todd met the love of his life, Leslie Hadley. The two were married on February 12, 1992.

Todd’s next business venture brought him back to his true passion: trucking. He started his own trucking company, Phil-Co, which he continued to operate until his unexpected passing.

Todd had a lifelong love of sports. He played basketball, football, and men’s softball. He especially enjoyed watching football and NASCAR races. Sprint car race nights with his dad, Frank, and stepson Ryan were cherished memories for Todd.

Todd treasured time with his family. At family gatherings, you could often find him sitting down for a game of Pinochle. Those games were filled with laughter, friendly competition, and memories that his family will treasure for years to come.

Todd will be remembered for his unforgettable laughter, generous heart, unwavering strength, and the example he set for everyone fortunate enough to know and love him. He had a way of making people feel welcome. His family and friends will remember his loyalty, humor, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Todd is survived by his parents, Frank and Luella Philbrick of Fargo; stepson, Ryan (Katelin) Landsdown of Grand Forks; granddaughters, Hadley and Brooklynn; a grandson on the way; sisters, Twyla Tunseth of Grand Forks and Beth (Gordie) Skjerseth of Mandan; mother-in-law, Sandy Hadley; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Todd was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie, with whom he shared 22 wonderful years before her untimely passing in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Larry Hadley, and his brother-in-law, Mike Tunseth.
