Valerie Krokum

Valerie Lynn Krokum, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 with her little brother Steven by her side. Valerie, daughter of Laurence and Janice (Wilkinsin) Krokum, was born on October 8th, 1966 in Devils Lake. She was raised in Grand Harbor Township, graduating from Devils Lake Central High School and Devils Lake Junior College. She worked various gaming jobs, in a cabinet shop, and at Amazon over the years. She most recently was working at St. Joe’s Thrift Store in Grand Forks.

She left a lasting impression on everyone she met, a kind soul with a joyful sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends whether it be playing games with her Town Square Apartments crew or attending meetings with The Way of Life Group.

She will be sadly missed by all, especially by her fur baby, Bugsley. She is now resting in the good Lord’s loving embrace as she is no longer in pain.

Valerie is survived by her brother, Steven Krokum, and her fur baby, Bugsley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Earl Gores.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
Burial will be in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery, rural Devils Lake at a later date.
