Vickie Ann (Wilde) Lee, 71, of Grand Forks, passed away on February 24, 2023, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. 

Vickie was born January 29, 1952, to parents Edwin and Eleanor Wilde of Grand Forks, North Dakota and resided in the city of Grand Forks.

She had three siblings; Scott and Jeff Wilde and Linda Penn who had also stayed close to the Grand Forks area.

During her childhood the kids spent a lot of time helping Edwin and Eleanor with chores, and whatever was needed around the family home. They had taken a few trips to Disneyland and the state of Pennsylvania, but mostly stayed close to home.

She attended high school at Grand Forks Central graduating in 1970 shortly before moving to Minneapolis, MN in 1972, where she began to work in the service industry. She held many service-like positions throughout her time there which included working as a sous chef at Forepaugh’s Mansion.

She married in 1980 and gave birth to her only daughter April and resided in Maplewood, MN where she raised April and continued to work. It was during this time Vickie made a lifelong friendship with Peggy who later became Aprils Godmother. Vickie and April stayed in Minneapolis while April was attending school and later moved back to Grand Forks in 1997.

Vickie had several hobbies in her adult life which included, sewing, crafting, and cooking and spending time with those she cared about the most.

After returning to Grand Forks, Vickie again took a job in the service industry holding several positions, including C&R Cleaners as a seamstress, Red River Café, and managing housekeeping at the Roadking Inn.

Vickie is survived by her daughter, April (Jon) Rybak; grandchildren, Maleah Lee, Eleanor, Karsen, and Gaige Rybak; brothers, Scott (Sheryl) Wilde and Jeff (Kris) Wilde, and a sister, Linda (Russ) Penn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; niece, Tammi Penn; aunt, Lois Wilde and infant brothers, Daniel and David Wilde.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks with visitation from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
