Ervin Stigen

Ervin P. Stigen, 86, Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Ervin was born March 6, 1933 in Ross, ND, the son of Pedar and Elizabeth (Bjelkivik) Stigen. He was raised in Caledonia, ND and graduated from high school in 1951. Ervin proudly served with the US Army in Austria during the Korean Conflict. He married Lois Walior on July 7, 1956, and worked in the Grand Forks area for many years until his retirement in 1995.

Ervin was actively involved with the Grand Forks American Legion and the 40 et 8.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, Grand Forks; children Richard (Vicky) Stigen, Northfield, MN, Debra (Brian) Kroese, Alvarado, MN, Julie (Rick) Stewart, Salem, SD and Bobbi (Rick) Brabbit, Grand Forks; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren.

Ervin was preceded in death by his siblings, Archie Stigen, Ila Meyer, and Julia Bakken.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation is one hour before the service in the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Grand Forks American Legion Post #6.
